Time for change

Zoophoria gives people who care about the environment an opportunity to purchase beautiful, ethically sourced products that support wildlife conservation and help to raise awareness of the exploitation of our wild spaces and loss of biodiversity.

Gary, the founder of Zoophoria is a biologist with a long-standing passion for animal welfare and wildlife conservation and has associations with the corporate science industry and academia. Our view is that British retail has to work and think differently about how it sources and processes products and materials if it is committed to protecting our planet. Ethical sourcing, raising awareness and sustainability are therefore at the heart of everything we do. We often use art to raise awareness of the challenges facing some of the worlds most endangered wildlife and work with a number of renowned and local wildlife artists and artisans, who share our passion for wildlife.

Our shop

Having a physical shop means it is possible to have face-to- face conversations with our customers. We love talking about our products and making customers aware of how their purchases can help wildlife, restore habitats, raise awareness and how ethical and sustainable sourcing link with conservation and social good. We in turn learn about their own interests and experiences of wildlife and their views on conservation and sustainability. This would not be possible if we traded solely online. Currently around 50% of our sales are returning customers.

A number of the pieces we sell have been commissioned by us and are exclusive to Zoophoria.
